About Me and My Purpose

This isn't my first attempt at blogging. In fact, this isn't my second, third, or fourth attempt at blogging. However, most of my blogging in the past has been for business purposes as part of my job description, and I think it's high time I begin posting the things that make me happy as an individual and not as an employee. With this being said, let's look at my background as might pertain to the interests of my readers:

I completed my bachelor's degree in Quantitative Psychology. This program combined study in psychology, mathematics, and family finance. My capstone project was a research article entitled "Three Ways to Motivate People to Save for Retirement". It outlined some psychology concepts which could be creatively applied by financial advisors to help motivate their clients to save some of their hard-earned monthly monies for their retirement. I am now studying for entry exams to begin my MBA with a personal financial planning emphasis. As you can probably deduce, I really enjoy personal and family finance. Some of my lists on this blog will probably feature some tips and tricks for the middle- or low-income family to aid in their monthly budgeting and spending.

I currently work at a University as a tutoring specialist, and my husband works as an academic advisor at the same institution. We value and are passionate about higher education and the economic, financial, emotional, and psychological benefits it can open to individuals and families. I'm sure there will be many lists on this blog devoted to higher education.

I am a mother of two natural children - a girl and a boy - and we are saving for the adoption of one or two more children. My family is my pride and joy, and we participate in a lot of fun family activities together. I started motherhood as a stay-at-home mom, but we encountered circumstances under which it became necessary for me to go back to work. Our family time, therefore, is very precious, as now my husband and I both work full-time. Because of the time constraints we have on our family time, I will devote some posts to things that help our family make the most of the time we have together.

I sincerely hope you are able to enjoy this blog and glean from it some things which will make your life better in any way. I welcome any comments you have to make on my posts, and I welcome you to my blog!
